According to "A worldwide study of umbilical cord cell banking", there were about 100 cord blood banks worldwide, out of which 40% were in Europe, 30% in the US and Canada, 20% in Asia and 10% in Australia. [1]
In Hong Kong, CRYOLIFE was the first company to offer private cord blood banking service when we were launched in 1998. As of winter 2012, CRYOLIFE manages an inventory of 20,000+ cord blood units for its clients in Hong Kong.
