CRYOLIFE is Asia's first private cord blood bank was established in 1996 and officially launched in January 1998. We are wholly owned by Cell Therapy Technologies Centre Ltd (CTTC).
2. What kind of services does CRYOLIFE provide?
CRYOLIFE cord blood storage programme provides processing, cryopreservation and storage of stem cells obtained from the umbilical cord blood immediately after childbirth. We offer expectant parents an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to collect and store their newborns' umbilical cord blood for future medical use.

CRYOLIFE is the first cord blood bank in Hong Kong with accreditation from the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), one of the highest professional standard recognized by the industry worldwide. Our laboratory has been ISO 9001:2000 certified since June 2002. In addition, our laboratory has passed external quality audit for ISO 9001-2000 with SGS with no-conformity in June 2005.

5. Does the hospital need to provide any materials for collection?
No, you will receive a collection kit that contains all the necessary items for your doctor to collect your baby's cord blood. Make sure you bring the kit with you when you go to the hospital for the delivery.
6. How is my baby's cord blood sent to your laboratory?
We provide a dedicated company courier to ensure that cord blood samples are picked up at a definite time, and that your cord blood unit will be delivered in a temperature controlled cell safe to our laboratory within 12 hours after notification.
8. What should I do if I want to retrieve my child's cord blood unit?
When there is a need to retrieve your cord blood unit for medical use, you should contact us immediately and complete a form for the release of your cord blood specimen. We will only process the retrieval upon receiving the completed retrieval request form. The retrieval process is performed by our professional laboratory technician under stringent procedures. Your cord blood unit will be placed in a container filled with liquid nitrogen and the temperature will be monitored and recorded throughout delivery.
