Our Medical Director, YK Mak, and Laboratory Director, Dr CF CHAN, published a review of umbilical cord blood on Hong Kong Journal of Gynaecology Obstetrics and Midwifery.

In the latest issue of "Hong Kong Journal of Gynaecology Obstetrics and Midwifery" (HKJGOM, July 2009, Volume 9, Number 1), CRYOLIFE’s Medical Director, Dr YK Mak (MBBS, MRCP(UK), FHKAM), and Laboratory Director, Dr Anthony CF Chan, Ph.D. (Cantab), has published a review titled: “Umbilical Cord Blood for Transplantation: from Collection Quality to Its Use in Cerebral Palsy”. HKJGOM is a professional journal edit and publish by The Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society of Hong Kong

Dr Mak is specialist in oncology; Dr Chan continues his research on cryopreserve technology for the clinical application of umbilical cord blood for years. Their achievement is recognized by academic circle and medical profession. The editor of HKJGOM, Dr Leung Kwok Yin, consultant of Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Queen Mary Hospital, invites Dr Mak, Dr Chan and his fellow, Senior Laboratory Operation Officer, Mr Terry Leung, to compose this review. CRYOLIFE hope this review can stimulate professionals in medical field and general public to further understand the true values and clinical uses of umbilical cord blood.
